Careers

    Build Physical AI With Us

Acumino is hiring across research, engineering, and field deployment to bring dexterous, AI-driven robots into industrial production. Roles are open across our Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala, Auckland, Boston, and San Francisco offices.

    Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

    JuniorSenior
    • Athens, Greece
    • Auckland, New Zealand

Own the cloud backbone that powers AcuBrain's data engine and the delivery of trained robot policies to production robots on the factory floor.

    What you'll do

    • Design and operate the pipelines that move robot interaction data from capture rigs to training clusters.
    • Build and maintain GPU-backed training and evaluation infrastructure on Kubernetes.
    • Harden the deployment path that ships trained policies to on-site robot controllers, with observability and safe rollback.
    • Own cost, security, and reliability of the cloud footprint.

    What we're looking for

    • Strong Python and infrastructure-as-code fluency (Terraform or similar).
    • Production experience with Kubernetes and distributed compute at scale.
    • Familiarity with ML training workflows and data-intensive systems.
    • Senior: 6+ years, comfortable on-call, has owned multi-region infra. Junior: 1–3 years, strong CS fundamentals, ready to grow into ownership.

    Robot Learning Engineer

    JuniorSenior
    • Athens, Greece
    • Auckland, New Zealand

Train the foundation robot models that turn AcuBrain-captured manipulation data into deployable policies. Push the state of the art in dexterous, hardware-agnostic robot learning.

    What you'll do

    • Design and train imitation-learning, reinforcement-learning, and behavior-cloning policies on large manipulation datasets.
    • Evaluate models in simulation (Isaac, MuJoCo) and on real hardware, closing the sim-to-real loop.
    • Publish internal benchmarks and collaborate with the manipulation and hardware teams on failure-mode analysis.
    • Ship models to production robots across Universal Robots, Fanuc, Mitsubishi MELFA, Fairino, OpenArm, and more.

    What we're looking for

    • PhD or MSc in robotics, ML, or a related field — or equivalent industry experience.
    • Hands-on with PyTorch, transformer/diffusion architectures for manipulation, and multi-modal (vision + proprioception + tactile) inputs.
    • Comfortable reading and implementing recent robot-learning papers.
    • Senior: track record of shipping learned policies to physical robots, publications a plus. Junior: strong ML fundamentals, prior research or internship with robots or embodied agents.

    Robot Manipulation Engineer

    JuniorSenior
    • Athens, Greece
    • Auckland, New Zealand

Own the manipulation stack that lets Acumino robots grasp, insert, assemble, and handle industrial parts with human-level dexterity. Bridge classical control with learned policies.

    What you'll do

    • Design end-effectors, grippers, and tactile stacks for tasks that off-the-shelf grippers can't reach.
    • Build and tune motion-planning, force-control, and hybrid position/impedance controllers.
    • Integrate learned policies with real-time control loops on industrial robot arms.
    • Run manipulation experiments end-to-end: task definition → data capture → policy training → hardware validation.

    What we're looking for

    • Degree in robotics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
    • Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2, real robot arms (UR, Franka, Fanuc, or similar), and standard perception stacks.
    • Solid grounding in kinematics, dynamics, and contact-rich manipulation.
    • Senior: shipped a manipulation system to a real customer or lab deployment. Junior: strong academic-project or internship background, comfortable with a wrench as well as a keyboard.

Mechatronics Engineer — Grippers, Tools & Data Interfaces

    JuniorSenior
    • Athens, Greece
    • Auckland, New Zealand

Design and build the physical apparatus that captures the world's most accurate manipulation data and lets Acumino robots grasp what off-the-shelf grippers can't. Own the mechatronics stack end-to-end: mechanical design, sensing, embedded firmware, and the data pipeline into AcuBrain.

    What you'll do

    • Design custom robotic grippers, end-effectors, and specialised tools for tasks that demand humanlike dexterity.
    • Build the data-collection rigs and teleoperation interfaces used to capture ground-truth manipulation demonstrations for AcuBrain.
    • Own the embedded firmware running on grippers, sensors, and capture hardware — real-time control, sensor fusion, and reliable telemetry back to the training pipeline.
    • Take hardware from concept to field-ready: CAD, prototyping, tolerance and manufacturing decisions, then iteration cycles driven by real deployment feedback.

    What we're looking for

    • Degree in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, or robotics engineering.
    • Hands-on designing electromechanical assemblies — grippers, actuators, or precision instruments — and taking them through fabrication.
    • Strong embedded systems background: C/C++ on microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, or similar), real-time firmware, sensor interfacing (I2C, SPI, CAN).
    • Senior: has shipped custom hardware into production or long-running deployments and can lead mechanical/electrical trade-offs. Junior: strong academic-project or internship portfolio, comfortable across the mech, elec, and firmware boundaries.
    Apply — careers@acumino.ai

    Software Engineer

    JuniorSenior
    • Athens, Greece
    • Auckland, New Zealand

Build the systems glue that ties AcuBrain's data engine, the robot policies, and the on-site deployment path together — from the tools operators use during data capture to the runtime shipped to factory robots.

    What you'll do

    • Design and ship internal tooling for data capture, dataset curation, and multi-robot playback.
    • Build the runtime layer that executes trained policies on real robots inside hard latency budgets.
    • Own developer experience across the Acumino stack: build tooling, CI, testing infrastructure.
    • Contribute wherever the critical path leads — from Python services to C++ runtimes to TypeScript operator UIs.

    What we're looking for

    • Strong software engineering fundamentals across Python and either a systems language (C++, Rust) or a modern frontend stack (TypeScript, React).
    • Comfort with real-time or latency-sensitive systems and multi-service architectures.
    • Track record of shipping and owning production software end-to-end.
    • Senior: multi-year experience owning services in production, has mentored other engineers. Junior: solid CS background and meaningful side-projects or internship work.

    Forward Deployed Engineer

    • Thessaloniki, Greece
    • Kavala, Greece
    • Boston, USA
    • San Francisco, USA

Take Acumino's robotic systems from our labs into customer factories. Own the deployment end-to-end: install, integrate, tune, and get the robot doing the customer's actual task on the customer's actual line.

    What you'll do

    • Lead on-site deployments end-to-end: mechanical integration, safety cell setup, calibration, policy tuning, operator handoff.
    • Diagnose and fix problems that only appear on the factory floor — mechanical, electrical, sensing, or software.
    • Own the customer relationship during and after deployment: task refinement, follow-up training rounds, uptime tracking.
    • Feed learnings from the field back into product: what breaks, what needs to be easier, what the next customer will hit.

    What we're looking for

    • Degree in mechanical, mechatronics, or robotics engineering.
    • Hands-on with industrial robot arms, end-effectors, PLCs, and factory safety systems.
    • Comfortable diagnosing across the stack — a customer problem might be a bolt torque, a sensor calibration, a network glitch, or a policy edge case, and you should be able to walk any of them down.
    • Willing to travel — customer sites are the office for meaningful stretches. Strong communication: you're the face of Acumino at the customer.
